I started documenting my budget the second week in January, so this makes my 3rd post of the month fall on the 4th week in January instead of it being my 4th post on week 4. With that being said, my main goal was to save a hundred dollars every paycheck. Me and my soon to be wife saves a hundred dollars out of our checks which equals to $400 a month. This money is solely for our emergency fund. I am happy to say that we reached our goals. I learned a few things this month, and one of those things were to expect the unexpected. I lost my car keys, my headlight went out, and my lady had to go to the doctor.
I created a budget for miscellaneous situations that had nothing to do with my $400 emergency savings account. My emergency savings is for serious situations such as lost of job, health situations, or something that can alter the way that I live my life. All of the unseen things would need to have a separate savings account. I like to keep everything separate so that I can see exactly where my money is going. So I put up $50 dollars from each check for miscellaneous situations, and I also reached that goal.
I have already completed my February budget and the goal is to put up another $400 dollars for my emergency account as well as an extra $200 dollars to our traveling account. Me and Lisa both worked overtime the last two weeks, so we want to start putting up money so that we can start taking vacations. Over the next couple of weeks you will see that I have about 5 different savings accounts and I will tell you why in future posts. That's all for now, so wish me luck and feel free to hit me up if you need any help with your budget.
